Setting Up Simulations

Overview

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up simulations within your N-aible professor dashboard. Simulations are the core of N-aible’s experiential learning — designed to give students hands-on experience through interactive, scenario-based challenges.

By setting up simulations correctly, you can ensure your cohort runs smoothly and that students receive a seamless, engaging experience from start to finish.

Creating and Assigning a Simulation

Each simulation is tied to a specific cohort or class section. Here’s how to get started:

Step 1: Log in to your Professor Dashboard.

Step 2: Open the Cohorts tab and select the cohort where you want to add a simulation.

Step 3: Click “Add Simulation” or “Set Up Simulation”.

Step 4: Choose a simulation from N-aible’s library — or customize one based on your course’s focus area.

Step 5: Configure the parameters such as:

  • Simulation name and description

  • Duration or submission deadline

  • Group vs. individual participation

  • Learning objectives or scoring criteria

Step 6: Click Save & Publish — and your simulation will instantly appear in your students’ dashboards.

For example:

Simulation: Business Expansion Challenge

Duration: 2 weeks

Format: Team-based

Objective: Develop a market entry strategy using provided datasets

Managing Simulations

After setup, you can:

  • Track student progress in real time.

  • Pause, extend, or reopen simulations.

  • View analytics on participation and performance.

  • Export results for grading or research purposes.
