Creating and Managing Cohorts

Overview

This guide walks professors and instructors through the process of creating and managing cohorts on N-aible. A cohort is your classroom workspace — where you assign simulations, track student progress, and manage team-based learning experiences.

Whether you’re setting up a new course or reusing last semester’s cohort, N-aible makes it easy to organize and guide your students in one place.

Creating a Cohort

Each cohort serves as a structured environment for your students to access simulations, assignments, and collaborative tools. Here’s how to set it up

Step 1: Log in to your Professor Dashboard on N-aible.

Step 2: Navigate to the “Cohorts” tab.

Step 3: Click “Create New Cohort” and enter the course details — such as name, description, and term.

Step 4: Add your desired simulation or activity for the class.

Step 5: Generate an access code or invite link to share with students.

Once created, you can monitor student enrollment, view submissions, and evaluate performance — all from your dashboard.

For example:

  • Cohort Name: Entrepreneurship 101 – Fall 2025

  • Simulation: Startup Pitch Challenge

  • Access Code: ENTR25

Managing Your Cohort

After set up you can:

  • Track student participation in real time.

  • View and grade simulation submissions.

  • Update or close cohorts when the term ends.

  • Invite co-instructors or teaching assistants for collaboration.
